Hafada piercing is a surface piercing located anywhere on the skin of the scrotum (ball sack). It does not penetrate deep into the scrotum, and since this area has loose and flexible skin, it doesn’t migrate or reject as much as other surface piercings. Multiple hafada piercings are not uncommon as an extension of a frenum ladder.
Transscrotal piercing is a piercing that actually passes through the scrotum, from front-to-back, or from side-to-side.
Ampallang piercing is a male genital piercing that goes horozontially through the head of the penis. The piercing may be transurethral (passing through the urethra). A varial on this is the shaft ampallang, which penetrates the shaft of his penis horizontally at any point along its length. Healing time is 4-6 months but can take up to a year.
Apadravya piercing is a vertical piercing through the entire head of the penis, the ampallang passes horizontally through the head, while the apadravya passes vertically through the head from top to bottom. It is almost always placed centrally and passing through the urethra. Off-center apadravyas are also possible (the piercing deliberately offset) but it usually still passes through the urethra. The piercing is normally done on a slightly forward angle to aid in...sex. Healing time is 4-6 months.
A combination of the ampallang and apadravya is called the magic cross.

A transscrotal piercing shouldn't even be mentioned here if they aren't going to go into any more detail about it. These are a very very rare and heavy modification that is more of a 'procedure' than a piercing, involving a scalpel and stitches. The article mentioned it as if it were in the same ballpark as the others discussed, when it is not. At all.
